DC Downtown Holiday Market

Did you buy your ticket to Europe to experience all of the amazing Christmas markets? No? That’s ok; DC has markets that are not nearly as cool but still super awesome. Seriously, they really are great. Located in Chinatown on F Street between 7th and 9th (right in front of the Smithsonian American Art Museum) the 8th annual Downtown Holiday Market boasts crafts, art, photographs, jewelry, etc. made by nearly 180 local artists. There are even a couple of booths that sell Christmassy things like handmade cards and ornaments.

8th Annual DC Holiday MarketAre you always hungry like me? Rest assured there are just a couple of booths with food options like warm mini sugar donuts or Peruvian style empanadas baked fresh daily and other food will rotate through. FAB. If the weather is cozy, hang around a while and listen to the band play or take pictures with a person in a blown up Christmas tree or posing as a gingerbread man.

The market is a great stop if you are looking to get into the holiday spirit, browse or want to support a local artist by purchasing an eclectic piece of handmade awesome.
